      Departed: 26 Jun 1800 - Cork, Ireland
      Arrived: 21 Feb 1801 - Sydney, NSW
      Master: Captain James Stewart
Particulars: Convict ship ; 384t and 12 guns; possibly built in France or Spain ; originally named Luz St Anne or Luz St Anna ; 42 crew plus prisoner guards ; travelled via Rio and the Cape of Good Hope ; total voyage took 240 days (presumably poor weather hampered the ship's progress in the final leg of the journey, because passage to Rio had been very swift.
Notes: Carried 24 female and 127 male convicts (one of whom was James Byrne). On 29 July, three weeks sailing from Rio, a short-lived mutiny took place which resulted in three wounded prisoners, the execution by firing squad of a ring-leader (the only prisoner to have been executed in this manner aboard a convict ship) and the flogging of another.

I have trace my Family to the original convicts James Byrne and Sarah (Franklin) information suggests that they are buried at St. Michael's, Ryansvale, NSW. I can't find this cemetery and it is driving me a little nuts.

I have been searching and it seems it was on a property called Springfield near Goulburn. I do not know this for sure but that is all i could come up with.

There was a church there called St Michaels but the alter for that church was taken and used in another church so i do not think it still stands.
This is the info i found on the altar

The present Spring Valley Church was opened in 1888. Messrs George, Stephen and Sylvester Sykes, John Byrne, P. O'Brien, and all the Catholics of the district, gave wonderful support to the building of this church. The altar in the church came from St Michael's, at Ryansvale; it was built in 1848. St Michael's was the first and only church around the district at this time, and all the Currawang and Spring Valley Catholics attended it
Any assistance would be great, i would really like to pay my respects and check on the condition of the grave.

There are photos and further info about the Ryansvale cemetery at the bottom of this page <"http://www.sykesfamily.com.au/william.htm ">http://www.sykesfamily.com.au/william.htm .  If you want to know more, I'd suggest you contact one of the current parishioners such as any of the Fishers listed in the White Pages at Currawang or on Currawang Road, Goulburn. Phil Sykes at "Pelican Station" (<"http://site.pelicansheepstation.com.au/htmfiles/history.htm">http://site.pelicansheepstation.com.au/htmfiles/history.htm) opposite "Springfield", would surely know. To get permission to see the site, you'd need to contact Richard Maple-Brown, the current owner of "Springfield", Braidwood Road, Goulburn. Richard's family <http://adbonline.anu.edu.au/biogs/A040155b.htm>http://adbonline.anu.edu.au/biogs/A040155b.htm has been there since 1827 http://www.nma.gov.au/collections/caring_for_the_collection/..., and so he would also know the site.

I see that this query has been duplicated elsewhere. This answer http://boards.ancestry.com.au/localities.oceania.australia.n... would be the way to start, by first confirming by lookup that there is a headstone record before you bother the local people.

      All the best,
